I'm Tai, President of JNC (The Japanese National Committee of CIGRE).
First of all, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to those people who have been affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. It is my sincerest hope that the affected people can begin to heal and I wish them a speedy recovery.
On March 11th, we lost much of our society’s infrastructures, like train, lifeline, electricity and communications, because of giant earthquake and tsunami. As you know, more than 27,000 people have died or remain missing, and a countless number of people have been displaced.
In the electricity industrial field, government, electrical power company and implementer have been exerting all effort to overcome the shortage of electric power in Tohoku and Kanto region. While JNC does not have to do any organized action, I believe paving the path toward revival should be a key activity into each field.
Last August, many Japanese took part in the CIGRE’s 43rd Paris Session. I know everyone has begun to network on a global level through discussions with expert from around the world, as a way to promote increased technology and standardization.
Now, JNC is preparing for submitting papers for the CIGRE’s 44th Paris Session. It is important for the advancement of Japan's international status to submit many high quality papers. And I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the affiliates who have submitted these abstracts.
Continuously, we should try to increase Japan's presence and intensify the action's of JNC with the support of Collective Members, Collective Members(Ⅱ), Associate Collective Members, Individual Members and Junior Members. Japan may now be in a hostile environment, but the future looks bright for Japan, JNC and CIGRE.
"Gambaro Nippon!!"
